About Us

Elimika envisions growing society’s needs and demand for cutting-edge technological innovations in agriculture for addressing sustainable and inclusive development. Its vision therefore is: –

To become a prominent hub for advancing inclusive community engagement in the quality agricultural value chain digital education through the use of emerging technologies.

Elimika will be on the cutting edge of training and research so that people can take it as a point of reference. In addition to ensuring that the current technologies are very functional and productive to stakeholders in the agricultural value chain. The company strives to be vibrant and recognized nationally and internationally. It is desired that by the year 2025, the trainees’ population will have reached about 300000 and be supported by a befitting digital and human resources capacity. It is also anticipated that the company will have adequate autonomy and foundations for financial sustainability.

Mission

Elimika was established to fill a critical niche in the country’s landscape of agricultural extension education providers. This is the glaring gap in the sufficient availability of high-quality extension education services in agriculture and climate change, particularly from the technology and innovation perspective. It is therefore high time that there is an adequate emphasis on training farmers on current technologies for increased production and quality production, post-harvest management and value addition and storage technologies.  Against this background, elimika’s mission is:

“To advance the economic and social development in agriculture through effective digital training, dissemination of information on good agricultural practices, innovation and knowledge management.”

Functions

Broadly, the Functions of the company shall be training and knowledge exchange in agricultural technologies. More specifically, the main functions of elimika are to:

      1. Provide facilities for training in the principles, procedures, practices, and techniques in agricultural technologies and in such other related disciplines as the company may from time to time decide;

       2. Engage in applied research and use the results to improve teaching, learning, and the provision of community service;

       3. Routinely evaluate and adjust the quality of training so as to remain relevant to the needs of the community, the country, and the Region;

       4. Provide consultancy and advisory services;

       5. Promote agricultural technology and innovations;

       6. Engage in resource mobilization activities that are within the mission of the Company;

       7. Promote gender balance and mainstreaming at the company and in the society.
